Recorded a 12-min founder update Thursday. Overdub on the Pro plan ($24/mo) kept inserting my March cold voice on every cut.
I re-trained the clone twice. Still got that rasp on the last 40 seconds. Ended up exporting wav and fixing it in ffmpeg like it's 2019.
Anyone else fighting Overdub on short clips, or is it just me being impatient?

not just you. i retrained my clone every monday for a month and short cuts under 2 min still pulled the old rasp.
switched to whisper.cpp locally for the transcript, then patched audio in audacity. slower, but at least the voice is mine.
Same thing last month. Short clips under ~90s were the worst for me — Overdub kept blending the old sample. I ended up cutting silence harder before retrain and it got... slightly less wrong.
Also: Pro still charged me after I paused for two weeks. Support was fine, but yeah.
Cutting silence harder helped me too, but only after I rebuilt the sample set from scratch (about 8 clean minutes, no March cold takes).
Interesting that Pro still billed you while paused — I hit the same on a $24 plan. Did support refund the dead weeks or just apologize?
I still use Descript for the timeline — the text-based edit is worth the $24/mo when the clone behaves. When it doesn't, I export wav and finish in Resolve like a caveman.
Anyone found a clone tool that doesn't keep a stale "sick day" voice in the model for months?
lol i just stopped fighting it. for founder updates i record once, leave the ums, and ship. overdub cost me more time than it saved on a 12 min cut.
do you still use descript for the timeline or just export and edit elsewhere now?
